Neither of us were excited by the long (1 1/2 hr) drive to Rome so Suzy opted for a local excursion and Cap stayed onboard, to capture a spectacular sunset. Note the jet contrail.

On the 10th, Cap opted for the short drive from Livorno to the Piazza del Miracoli, a wide walled area containing three structures (the 4th is a cemetery) with which we Americans are usually familiar. During this drive we passed a huge US Army Post and later an airfield, both utilized during WW II. The Cathedral (1064), Bapistry of St. John (1152) and The Leaning Tower of Pisa are magnificent structures. There are 296 steps if you want to climb to the top, however you must buy a ticket (best in advance) and it's heavily protected.

Yep-both still continuing to tilt.
Cap likes tomatoes, but not necessarily one of his favorites, unless they are Italian! Bruschetta at an outdoor cafe with a glass of Italian wine makes for a wonderful experience!
Hardly ever passing up an opportunity, Suzy visited a lovely small winery in Tuscany--the wine has gotten better at every stop!

| Villa at Varramista Winery; the Sangiovese was terrific, and Suzy had to bring some back. |
